The 2012 Columbia baseball season kicks off next Thursday, when the Lions face The Citadel in Charleston, S.C. Last year, the Lions had high hopes and were expected to easily snatch up the Ivy Title. The 2011 campaign fell short and Columbia ended the season with a 9-11 record in the Ancient Eight. After dashed hopes and changes to the bats used last year, Columbia hopes to put 2011 behind it. With power from the bat of Dario Pizzano—who led the Ivy League in home runs last season—the Lions hope for a fresh start. Check out Spectator's first baseball supplement since 2007 below.
